What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites use to store and collect information by means of the browser. They are mainly used to measure and improve website quality by analysing the behaviour of visitors to customise pages and remember user preferences.
The “Cookie Law” (Directive 2009/136/EC) modified Art. 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (D. Lgs. 196/2003). The article states that the visitors' consent must be obtained in order to collect information on the computer or on any other device connected to the web. Previously, storing and collecting this information was allowed without prior consent.
The Personal Data Protection Supervisor has identified simplified methods for informing and acquiring consent for cookie use in the Regulation dated 8 May 2014 - doc. web n. 3118884 (Published on Official Journal n. 126 of 3 June 2014), with which these legal notes comply, to ensure greater transparency towards ends users.
Furthermore, this Disclaimer complies with the new European Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and takes the ePrivacy Regulation project, the approval of which is underway, into account. FCA Bank S.p.A. may make changes to this Disclaimer in order to comply with new cookie-related requirements which will be set forth in the aforesaid Regulation. The user is responsible for checking this Disclaimer regularly.
“First party” cookies are those installed by the website that you are visiting, while “third party” cookies are set by a website other than the one you are visiting. This is because the FCA Bank website may contain elements (such as images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domains etc.) which reside on different servers from the one of the website you are visiting.
The duration of the installed cookies may be limited to the browsing session or extend for a longer time also after you have left the site you are visiting. FCA Bank prefers “session cookies” which do not store sensitive data and use browsing-related personal data to analyse and improve access to the information presented by the website. The session cookies used on this website avoid the need to resort to other computer techniques which are potentially detrimental to the browsing confidentiality.
The current cookie regulation provides an “opt-in” rule, according to which cookies can be used by the website for the user browsing it exclusively with the user's consent, with the sole exception of technical cookies.
The browser settings or the DoNotTrack option, where available, can be used to deactivate, remove or block cookies. Complete access to the website is not guaranteed in case of deactivation.
Cookie type and functions
1. Technical cookies
These cookies are fundamental for the correct operation of the website and for using some functions: e.g. they may be used to identify a session, access a reserved area, remember the elements of a previously formulated request, perfect the purchase order or store of a quote. Without technical cookies, the service normally offered by the website could be partially or totally inaccessible. Since these cookies are indispensable for browsing and for using the required services, users are not required to provide their consent. You can block or remove technical cookies by configuring your browser options. However, if you perform one of these operations, you may not be able to access some zones of the website or use some of the offered services. This type of cookie does not collect information which can be used for commercial purposes and the duration is limited to the session itself.
Technical cookies will be stored until the end of your visit and will be deleted a few hours after the browser was closed.
2. Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies collect user browsing information in anonymous form. They are used to calculate and improve website performance and to customise your online experience by identifying specific contents. The information collected by means of analytics cookies (e.g. information on how the website is used by users and the reception of error messages) is used exclusively by FCA Bank or by service providers operating on its behalf, which do not store, communicate or disseminate the data to third parts. The user's consent is not required for analytics cookies but you can block or remove them by configuring your browser options. However, if you perform one of this operations, you may not be able to access some zones of the website or use some of the offered services.
The information generated by your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored on third party servers.
